Bernice G. Zimmerman Patterson, age 87, of Adona, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017. She was born February 23, 1930, at St. Vincent, Arkansas, a daughter to the late John Alfred Zimmerman, and Josephine Mary Gottsponer Zimmerman. She worked at various jobs throughout her lifetime, including being a commercial fisherman, and finished up as a world class grandma. She was also a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church near Oppelo.
She is survived by her sons, Gene Rhoda of North Carolina, David Rhoda, and Darryl Rhoda both of Arkansas, and Dale Barclift of Florida; daughters, Debbie Finton of St. Elizabeth, Dianne Morrow of Vilonia, Arkansas, Donna Soares of Idaho, and Denise Tabor of Florida, brother, Fred Zimmerman of Oppelo; sister, Irene Hoyt of St. Elizabeth; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Gene Patterson; her brothers, John Ike, Carl, and Jake Zimmerman; and her sisters, Helen Greeson, and Regina Huddleston.
The rosary will be 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Harris Chapel with visitation to follow. Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church near Oppelo. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart School Scholarship Fund, 106 North St. Joseph Street, Morrilton, Arkansas, 72110. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
