Bernie Leo Pittman, 54, of Stanfield, AZ, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 14th.
Bernie was born January 8, 1960, in Casa Grande, AZ at Homako Hospital. He was the oldest child of Judy and Leo Pittman.
Bernie enjoyed flying, off-roading and motorcycles. He was an accomplished pilot stating early in his life, teaching himself to fly before obtaining his pilot's license. He enjoyed ultra lights, gyro copters and fixed wing aircraft of all types. He detested boredom and was never without a hobby. Bernie was a master mechanic and most recently enjoyed his career working for AK-Chin Farming Authority. Despite all the time he spent in the air, he enjoyed all of these hobbies with his wife, Amy Powell, who kept him grounded. They spent the last 14 years building a life and enjoying the time they had together. Bernie is also survived by his mother and father, Leo and Judy Pittman; sister Donna Apodaca; brother Bryan Pittman; brother Keith Pittman; son Christopher Pittman; daughter Vanessa Pittman; son Daniel Pittman; son Steven Pittman as well as seven grandchildren.
A celebration of Bernie's life was held this past Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Heritage Casa Grande Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Valley Humane Society.
Heritage Casa Grande Funeral Chapel were in charge of the arrangements.
