Beth Ann Corcoran, age 51, of New Haven, Connecticut, died unexpectedly, in her sleep, at the Villa Notre-Dame, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. Beth was visiting with her daughter, Jessica, in the days before her untimely death. Born July 20, 1962, in Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of Joan McNamara Corcoran and the late James Anthony Corcoran, she graduated from Glastonbury High School in 1980 and attended Central Connecticut State University. At one time Beth lived in Saint-Philibert, Quebec, Canada; however she called Connecticut her home for most of her adult life. She was fluent in French and during high school also mastered Russian. A devoted mother of three wonderful children, Beth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at Giants Neck Beach. Beth will be remembered for her quick wit, spirit of adventure, and her generosity. Beth also enjoyed keeping in touch with her extended family, often times attending various family reunions in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Beth will be dearly missed by her colleagues at the Knights of Columbus where she worked for the last nine years. Beth was an active member of the Center of Light Church in New Haven, Connecticut. Beth was always generous with her time and skills. She recently translated a letter written in French, during WWII, by a friend's husband. The translation brought great joy and comfort to the family of the author. Beth is survived by three children, Eric, Patrick and Jessica Pomerleau of Sherbrooke, Canada. She is also survived by her mother, Joan Corcoran, brother Chris Corcoran and his wife Abigail Adams and sister Mary Ellen Stiano and her husband Dave. Beth has three nephews and two nieces with whom she was always very generous. Her cousins in Massachusetts and New Hampshire will always remember Beth for her smile and laughter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 11a.m at Saint Matthias Church, 317 Chesterfield Rd East Lyme CT 06333. A reception will be held immediately following the Mass in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcome and should be mailed to Care & Share of East Lyme, Inc., PO BOX 114, East Lyme, CT 06333. Funeral services are being arranged by Thomas L.
