Bethyl Jean Lewis, 83, of Berlin, passed away at 10:36 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at St. John's Hospice. Jean was born July 3, 1928 in Lake Fork, IL, the daughter of Orville B. "Pappy" and Elsie Faye Munyon Donovan. She married John L. Lewis in 1964 in TN. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2001. Jean was a graduate of Mt. Pulaski High School and was a member of Berlin Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, working crossword puzzles, and loved spending time with her family. She is also preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Brenda Appelt. She is survived by her seven sons, Ron (wife, Terry) Appelt of Springfield, Bill (wife, Nancy) Lewis of Decatur, John (wife, Monica) Lewis of Decatur, James (wife, Mary) Lewis of OH, Roger Bozarth of Palm Springs, CA, Stephen (wife, Lori) Bozarth of New Berlin, and Tom (wife, Marsha) Lewis of Harristown; four daughters, Mary (husband, Rick) Wilkins of Mt. Zion, Debby Schmulbach of Sherman, Diana (husband, Lester) Doty of Mt. Zion, and Linda Wells of Decatur; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Irvin Donovan of Palm Springs, CA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Berlin Christian Church, 2580 S. Wake Rd., New Berlin with Rev. Warren Brosi officiating. Burial will follow at Berlin Cemetery.
