Betty J. Davis, 73, of Crystal Lake passed away November 7th, 2017 at JourneyCare hospice in Woodstock, IL surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born April 30th, 1944 in Sheboygan, WI to Raymond and Florian (Greenwood) Schwerzler. She was a 1962 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School in Sheboygan Falls, WI and she was actively involved in band, was a drum majorette and participated in Turners Gymnastics. On her birthday in 1965, Betty married Neal R. Davis in Sheboygan Falls, WI.
Betty had a full, wonderful life and some highlights from her youth include the following: Miss Coca-Cola in the Miss Sheboygan Jaycee Pageant; attended Patricia Stevens Career College and Finishing School in Milwaukee, WI; participated in the Miss Milwaukee Pageant (a Miss America Preliminary); Soprano in the All State Chorus for the University of Wisconsin; Secretary and Stage Performer for Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee, WI. Betty was Co-Founder and Owner of Mid-Central Packaging Machinery, Inc. and enjoyed being a Mother and Homemaker as well as member of the Turnberry Country Club for several years. Traveling the world together, Neal and Betty shared a blessed life putting family first and these memories will remain with all of us into the future. Betty was known as a kind-hearted, sweet and very thoughtful woman to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Betty is survived by her husband of over 52 years, Neal; her daughter, Renee (Paul) Herrmann and her grandchildren, Michael and Helen Herrmann all of Crystal Lake, IL; and her brother, Don Schwerzler of Marietta, GA.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Neal Jr., and her parents.
A visitation will be from 1:00-4:00pm on Saturday, November 18th at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014. There will be a short time for prayer at the end of the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
