Mrs. Betty Rowell, 86, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Clinton Healthcare. A memorial service will be held in her home town of Liberty, TX, at a later date.

Mrs. Rowell was born on September 21, 1931 to the late I.A. and Irene Webb Philliber. She was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially over coffee and dessert. She liked traveling, working in her yard, and every Saturday she looked forward to attending The Liberty Opry. She loved and collected everything cats, but wasn't your typical cat lady. She only owned one pet cat at a time. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she got great joy in displaying her snow village for everyone in the community to see. She was a Christian woman who was strong in her faith. She was a member of First Baptist Church Liberty and loved the Lord above all else. There is no doubt that she was greeted by Him as she arrived to Heaven and was told, "Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord." Matthew 25:23

Mrs. Rowell was truly ONE OF A KIND.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Westley Rowell; sons, Eugene and Mike Rowell; her parents; and one brother, Robert Philliber.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, DeAnn Rowell of Houma, Louisiana, her grandson, Marc Glott of Coppell, Texas; granddaughters, Melanie Naquin (Travis) of Clinton, Mississippi and Melissa Chauvin (Donald) of Bourg, Louisiana; 6 great granddaughters; and 1 great-great granddaughter, who entered the world on January 1, 2018, at the same time of her passing.

2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to First Baptist Church of Liberty at 602 Main St, Liberty, TX 77575
