Betty Lou Tanner was born March 25, 1934 in Matador, Texas to Lucius and Allie (Ellithorp) Lancaster. She passed from this life December 6, 2017.

Betty moved to Lubbock when she was 10 years old, and later graduated from Lubbock High School, class of 1951. She attended Texas Tech.

Betty and Arnold Tanner were married on August 30, 1952, and recently celebrated their 65th anniversary.

Betty was a Charter Member of Redbud Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. Betty's business career started at the Baker Company, and later continued as Financial secretary at First Christian Church, Lubbock.

When Arnold and Betty opened Highland Floors, she became manager of the Drapery Division. During this time, she was active in many local Baptist churches, teaching children and later a women's class. After they retired from retail and became involved in Volunteer Missions, Betty travelled to many countries all over the world teaching and sharing her testimony.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Lucius and Allie Lancaster. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Arnold Tanner; daughters Julie Tanner, Kelly Adams and husband David; grandchildren Seth Adams and wife Jennifer, granddaughter Amber Buehler and husband Brian; and a great-granddaughter Breelyn Buehler.
