Mr. William Sanford "Bill" Ayers, age 76, of Eastanollee, GA, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at his home.

Born June 18, 1941 in High Point, NC, he was the son of the late Waco and Dollie Mae Moss Ayers.

He was retired from Coats and Clark with 28 ½ years of service and also worked with Mark Wilkinson Lumber Company for 15 years. Bill loved deer hunting, camping, fishing, waterskiing and boating. He was an avid race fan and college football fan. He coached the Eastanollee Redskins and played and coached men's softball for Coats and Clark for many years. Bill was a United States Navy Veteran.

Family members include his daughter and son-in-law, Denise Bender and Brad of Lavonia; son and daughter-in-law, Butch Ayers and Mandy of Toccoa; grandchildren, Taylor Bender, Ashton Ayers, and Zachary Ayers; special niece and her husband, Cindy Foster and Tommy; nephews, David Barron and Greg Barron and his wife Debbie; and several great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in the death by his wife, Dorothy Martin Ayers; his parents; his grandparents, Will and Texie Ann Ayers and Ben and Emma Harrison Moss; and his sister, Ann McCord.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Monday, February 19, 2018 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers; Pudden Rumsey, Dale Lingerfelt, Roger Cannon, Ronnie Edmonds Ricky Shirley, Reese Lingerfelt, Richard Bender, Ted Lovell, Lewis Benfield, Dwayne Singletary, and Virgilo Gonzalez.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2pm – 5pm Sunday, February 18, 2018.
