Clarence "Bill" Hodgson, 90, Argusville, ND died suddenly on Friday, January 22, 2016 at his home.

Clarence Lynn Hodgson, one of nine children, was born on April 1, 1925 in Fargo, ND to Charles and Alice (Murphy) Hodgson. Bill attended school in Argusville. He was a member of the North Dakota National Guard. On January 17, 1944, he married Juanita Wilson and they recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. They lived and farmed near Arthur, ND from 1944 until 1971. In 1972, they moved to the farm near Argusville which has been in the family since 1878 and was homesteaded by his great-grandfather. Bill was still active in the farming operation with his son Lynn and grandson Donny. Bill served on the Arthur
Township Board for 19 years and the Gardner Township Board for several years.

He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Gardner Lions Club and Fargo Eagles Club. Besides farming, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time surrounded by his children and grandchildren at his lake home on Big McDonald Lake.

Bill is survived by his wife Juanita, of Argusville, five children: Diane (Eddie) Poehls, of Tolna, ND, Ginger (Duane) Fowler, of Fargo, ND, Larry (Glenna), of New York Mills, MN, Lynn (Sherry), of Argusville, ND and David (Marilyn), of Wyndmere, ND; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; along with many nieces and nephews and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Earl, Philander, Wyman, Casper, Kent and Allan, sisters Elizabeth and Mary.

Visitation: Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 5 to 7 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM at the West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.

Funeral: Wednesday at 11 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, Arthur, ND with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Argusville Cemetery.
