Bobbie Lee McCrory, 85, went home to Heaven on Monday, September 18, 2017.

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm, Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 11:00am, Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Bethel Baptist Church in Brandon with interment in the church cemetery. He was born August 28, 1932, in Morton, Mississippi, a son of the late Clinton McCrory and Etta Mahaffey McCrory.

Mr. McCrory was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed with Hart-McGowan Foundation Co. for 10 years, and then retired from Scanlon Taylor Millworks after more than 20 years of service.

A talented cook, Mr. McCrory served for several years as a chef for off shore oil rigs and tugboats. He loved his gardens, raising vegetables and tending his flowers. Bobbie McCrory will best be remembered for his heart of service to others, and the way he could be counted on to visit with the sick, always with a meal he had cooked.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Horton McCrory, and daughter, Donna McCrory Layton.

Survivors include son, Ricky McCrory; daughter Patricia Horne and husband John; son-in-law, Robert Layton; grandchildren, Suzonne Morales, Shaun McCrory, Gary Layton, Coy Layton, and Morgan Bryan; and great-grandchildren, Savanah Morales, Piper Britt, Ean Layton, Landon Layton, Ezaiah Layton, and Elizabeth Bryan.
