Mr. Bobby 'B.J.' Michaelis, age 82, of Goodwin, died Wednesday at his home in Goodwin. He had been in poor health for the past several years.

Mr. Michaelis was born February 21, 1931, in Gillett, Arkansas, and was the son of John Michaelis and Bertie Lee Rogers Michaelis. He had served in the Arkansas National Guard, was Past President of the Wheatley School Board, a member of the Lions Club, Past President of the St. Francis County Farm Bureau, was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and a member of the Methodist Men.

Mr. Michaelis married Gussie French in 1954, and she survives him along with three sons; Donald Michaelis and Gary Michaelis, both of Goodwin, and Stacy Michaelis of Moro, one niece, Nora Jean Castleberry of New Mexico, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He had one sister, Pearl Briney, who preceded him in death.

Services for Mr. Michaelis will be held at the Salem United Methodist Church, 2:00 P.M., Friday, with burial in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at Stevens Funeral Home with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
