Bobby Joe Capers, age 86, passed away on July 23, 2017 in Rockwall, Texas. He was born on July 14, 1931 in Del Rio, Texas, to Hunter and Mamie Capers. Bob was raised in Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas and attended Sunset High School. He later graduated from Arlington State College in 1952.

He married Jimmie O. Capers in 1950 and the couple had three wonderful children. He was a Data Services Manager at the Dallas County Records Building where he worked for more than 20 years.

In his spare time, Bob enjoyed working with plants, playing drums in a western band, dancing with his wife, playing with his kids, working on his farm and with his cows in Ennis, Texas, working with his sons in Boy Scouting, watching the Dallas Cowboys play, and messing around with computers.

Bob is also known for being able to play drums to any kind of music, producing three beautiful children, and raising beautiful white face cattle.

His family will always remember him as a “really good guy,” someone that was always really helpful with friends and family, and someone who would try anything to get things done.

He is preceded in death by his youngest son, Stuart Lynn Capers.

Bob is survived by his wife Jimmie Capers; his son and daughter-in-law Bobby and Diane Capers; daughter Cathy Ann Capers; two sisters Geri Swift and Marolyn Casada; and many nieces, nephews, grandsons, and granddaughters.
