Bobbye Lee Cathey Hallum, age 81, of Appleton, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011. She was born July 15, 1929 in Jerusalem, Arkansas, a daughter of Robert Cathey and Lee Stroud Cathey. Bobbye graduated from Jerusalem High School, Arkansas Tech University and UCA. She taught Elementary and High School for 42 years. She was a basketball, softball coach and a librarian, and was an avid sports fan. She was a member of Cross Roads Cemetery Board of Directors at Appleton, the widow of Billy Don Hallum, and of the Church of Christ faith.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, and is survived by her son, Charles Robert Hallum and wife Patricia of St. Vincent; daughter, Martha Lee Stroud and husband William Beebe of Appleton; two grandchildren, Alaina Hallum and Lance Hallum.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at the Harris Chapel with Mr. Randy Rankin officiating. Burial will be at Cross Roads Cemetery at Appleton by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends 6:00-9:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, at the funeral home.
