Hovell, C. Ronald," Ron", Age 79 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in Dayton, Ohio. He was born November 8, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA. The son of the late Clement G. and Marie Louise (Housel) Hovell. He served his country with the U.S. Navy and was employed as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management in Washington, D.C. His career included 20 years at Wright-Patterson AFB, retiring in January 1994 as the Director of the Columbus (Ohio) Finance and Accounting Center with over 37 years' service. He was a member of the Twin Base Golf Club, American Society of Military Comptrollers, and the Senior Executive Association. He was a Sloan Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1976-1977 and received the Presidential Distinguished Rank Award from President Reagan in 1988. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda L., their daughter Marcia L. Paulick, son-in-law, Douglas Paulick; son John F. Hovell and daughter-in-law, Dusty Hovell (Mull) of Dayton, Ohio; his children Ronald C. Hovell, Xenia, Ohio; Sherrie Anne Blackfeather, Olympia (WA); and son James M. Hovell, Winter Haven (FL), daughter-in-law Lisa, 12 Grandchildren (Mollie, Jake, Ben, Cara, Brandy, Nikki, Julia, Paul, Rachel, Stephanie, Michael and Steven), 5 Great Grandchildren (Carter, Reese, Eva, Noah, Toby); Mother-in-law, Hilda C. Lachey, numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; brother Michael (Patty) and sister Lisa (Randall). Preceded in death by sisters Gerrie and Connie and brother, Larry.
