Calvin ("Cal") J. Hurlock passed away at the age of 92 on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Grayson Place in Denison. He was one of seven children born to George E. Hurlock and Katherine Knight Hurlock in Indiantown, Virginia on Sept. 20, 1924.

On March 1, 1947 he married the "love of his life", Rachel Wilkins and they had four daughters, Nancy, Sue, Peggy and Debbie.

On October 1, 1971, he retired from the U. S. Air Force, as one of "The Greatest Generation". He served in three wars, WWII, Korean and Vietnam.

His many decorations and awards include "Bronze Star" for meritorious service, U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force good conduct medals with 6 oak leaf clusters, Asiatic Pacific Campaign with bronze star, Philippine Liberation medal 1 bronze star, Philippine Defense medal, Philippine Independence Ribbons, WWII Victory Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal 1 Star, American Campaign medal, Air Force Longevity award with 5 silver oak clusters, National Defense Service with 1 bronze star, Air Force outstanding Unit Award with 2 Oak Leaf cluster, Vietnam service medal with 1 star, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. He was also two time recipient of Major Command Outstanding "Non-Commission Officer of the Year".

He was a member of the Masonic Order, served as "Past Master" of Billie Mosse Lodge #1152, just received his 60 year pin and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Rachel (Rae) Hurlock; parents; daughter Peggy Humphrey; all of his siblings, Hazel Bergstrom, George Hurlock, Jr., Anne Higgins, Ted Hurlock, Warren Hurlock and Bernie Hurlock.

He is survived by daughters, Nancy Lakey & husband Phil, Sue Harris & husband Jay, Debbie Hood and husband Randy; grandchildren, Lara Cantrell, Rachel Morrison, Jake Lakey, Ashley Waiwaiole, Michelle Walston, Dianne Ort; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A special word of thanks to Guardian Hospice for all the love and care provided to Cal and family.

Family night will be at Bratcher Funeral Home, Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 6 - 8pm.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 10:00am at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel, 401 W. Woodard St., Denison, Texas. Officiating will be Rev. Danny Wood of West Baptist Church, Sherman, Texas. Burial services will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Denison.

Pallbearers will be the Military Honor Guard of Sheppard Air Force Base. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Masonic Lodge #1152, Denison, TX. Other honors performed by the North Texas Patriot Guard.
