Visitation for Carl Arnold Molony, formerly of Meridian and Stonewall, will be held Thursday evening, June 2, 2016 from 5pm to 7pm at Stephens Funeral Home of Meridian.
Mr. Molony was a resident of the State Veterans Home in Kosciusko for the past four years and passed away Saturday, May 28th at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 72 years of age.
He retired from the Meridian Police Department after being shot in the line of duty in 1982. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Mississippi Air National Guard.
Carl loved playing golf and played as long as his health allowed travelling as far away as Phoenix, AZ for tournaments.
He is survived by his sons, Glenn (Yoshie) of Washington, D.C., Thomas (Kristen) of Meridian; daughter Carla Stewart and husband Dusty of Meridian; grandsons Robin Molony of Yokusku, Japan, Gunnar Molony of Flagstaff, AZ and Noah Stewart of Meridian. He is also survived by granddaughters Annsley and Aven Molony of Meridian; sister Fay Smith of Causeyville; six nephews and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas "Pop" and Margie Molony; brothers Gerald and Jim; sisters Louise Cowan and Frances Sharp.
Mr. Molony's remains will be cremated and his ashes spread in a favorite place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Stonewall, MS or a favorite charity.
