Carl E. Slutter, 76, of Stroudsburg passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at the VNA Hospice House. He was the loving companion of Iris Velez.
Born December 7, 1940 in East Stroudsburg Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George E. and Ethel (Stout) Slutter.
Carl enjoyed playing country, bluegrass, and gospel music. He played the fiddle, guitar and the harmonica. In his earlier years he played in several bands including the Good Old Boys. Some people may remember Carl for dressing up like Santa Clause and visiting the local nursing homes. Carl was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved taking care of his yard and getting visitors from his church. Carl worked for several local businesses including Pat & Reds, Pocono Foundry, Mt. Airy Lodge and the Borough of Stroudsburg. Carl has touched many lives with his love for music and great personality.
He was a member of the Neola United Methodist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory include daughters; Cindy Everdean of Stroudsburg and Carol Ann Schuster of Dickson City: son; Carl E. Slutter Jr. of Tannersville: sisters Eleanor Slutter, Arlene Slutter- Rake, and Helen Rothermel: grandchildren: Heather Slutter Sportelli and Alan Slutter: greatgrandchild; Shane Sportelli.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday December 9, 2017 from 9 am to 10 am with a funeral prayer service to follow with Pastor Todd Glasmire officiating at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home Inc. 27 Washington St. East Stroudsburg.
