Call Edwin Shelton, 90, left the limits of this world and entered eternity at 3:14 am at July 9, 2017. He is now in the loving arms of Jesus with a renewed mind and body. Carl was one of eight children born to Charles and Julia Shelton on June 14, 1927 and Warr Acres, Oklahoma. Carl served in World War II as a signalman on the peninsula of Korea. He returned from the war and married Ellen Marie Moore on March 27, 1946. Carl worked several jobs and then landed a career for Prudential Insurance which lasted over 35 years and his main focus was providing for his family. He served in honorary positions with the Lions Club and Gideon's International. Carl was a longtime member of the Church of the Nazarene. He held positions of Sunday school director, board member and even a custodian for many years. He believed that part of worship was also serving in the church, no matter what the duty called. Carl enjoyed singing and playing the harmonica, traveling, poetry, pranks and telling stories of life. Carl is survived by sons Jerry E, husband of Susan (James) Shelton of Lubbock, Texas and Stephen R., husband of Cynthia (Ogden) Shelton of Tulsa, Oklahoma and 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, his beloved wife Marie and two of his sons, John Mark and David James Shelton.
