Carl Warren Curtis, 77, of Swanzey, NH passed away peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth Hitchcock, Keene.

He was born at home on Church Street in Keene, NH on July 11, 1939, the son of Leland I. Curtis and Dorothy B. (Greenleaf) Curtis. He attended Keene schools, was a graduate of Keene High School, and lived his entire life in the Keene area.

Mr. Curtis worked for Miniature Precision Bearings (MPB), and subsequently Timken, for 43 years, starting at the age of 19. The majority of that time he worked as a shift Supervisor. He had a strong work ethic and was particularly proud of the fact that he missed only a handful of days throughout his career. Following his "retirement" he worked for another 10 years at Hamshaw lumber, where he enjoyed interacting with customers leaving the yard.

Mr. Curtis grew up hunting and fishing, and enjoyed these activities with family and friends for much of his life. He especially enjoyed archery and became quite skilled with a bow and arrow as a young man. He also enjoyed motorcycles and played softball in Keene leagues for many years. He was noted for his sense of humor and was always ready with a joke.

He was the father of seven children and leaves 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Family members include sons and daughters-in-law Randy and Jan Curtis of Manchester, and Vince and Carrie Curtis of Nashua; daughters Carlene Tilson of Marlborough and Karren Haseltine of Keene; and sons Kyle and Jacob Curtis of Swanzey; brother and sister-in-law Gary and Connie Curtis of Florida; and long-time companion Beverly Holden of Swanzey. He was predeceased by his parents and a son, Keith Curtis, formerly of Keene.

Friends may call Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH 03431.

A funeral service will be offered Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11:00 am at the same location. A private burial will take place at a later date.
