Carla Ruth Pierceall, 67, of Berlin, died at 9:47 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center. Carla was born June 17, 1942 in Dongola, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Juanita Taylor Davis. She married Lloyd Pierceall on April 27, 1963 in Springfield. Carla graduated from Dongola High School and received her Associates Degree from SIU Edwardsville. She was employed as a lab technician for over thirty years retiring in 2004. Carla was a member of the Illinois Poultry Association and was very active in 4-H. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, cooking and collecting cookie jars. Carla's favorite activity though was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Lloyd Pierceall of Berlin; two sons, Jim (fiancé, Loretta) Pierceall of Berlin and Thomas (fiancé, Meridith) Pierceall of Springfield; three daughters, Tamette (husband, Joe) Duckworth of Cincinnati, OH, Carmala Zubia of Berlin and Hallie (companion, Tom Colby) Pierceall of Springfield; six grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Taylor Zubia, Dalton Pierceall, Darah Urban and Ericka and Jeffrey Duckworth; one great-grandchild, Gameli White; sister, Margaret (husband, Mike) Pender of Centralia; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson, New Berlin. Funeral ceremonies will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Berlin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to University of Illinois Extension, Sangamon-Menard 4-H Unit, 2501 N. 8th St., IL State Fairgrounds Bldg #30, Springfield, IL 62702.
