Carlos Mottu Sepulveda, 37, was born to parents Carlos and Alva Sepulveda in Houston, Tx. on March 19, 1980. He was the oldest of three boys and raised in the Southbelt area. He attended St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church and was an alter server for many years.

Carlos started his freshman year of high school at Strake Jesuit and went on to finish and graduate as an honor student from J. Frank Dobie High School, and from there, to U of H. His electrical experience afforded him the opportunity to work out of state. Louisiana, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, and Colorado are some of the places he was able work before landing his last job at Kast Fabrics as a customer representative. He worked there for seven years and quickly became a valued employee. His work ethic was one of a kind. Throughout his time there he gained the love and trust by those around him. The bonds and relationships he had with his coworkers and his customers were strong enough to consider them more like family and close friends. This is just one example of the kind, warm hearted young man he was and that his own family knew.

From an early age he loved playing sports and later excelled in basketball. Carlos was an avid sports fan with a deeply rooted love for the Green Bay Packers. Sky diving, fast cars, and motorcycles satisfied his itch for an adrenaline rush, but he also enjoyed his drives to Galveston along the sea wall soaking in the serene peacefulness of the coast. Like many, he had a sweet tooth. He loved sweet tea, ice cream, Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies, and snow cones (just to name a few).

Carlos went home to be with the Lord December 28,2017. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers; Carlos V. Sepulveda and Roy Z. Mottu. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, grandson, cousin, friend, and uncle. He is survived by his parents: Carlos and Alva Sepulveda; grandmothers: Elvira Sepulveda and Carmen Mottu (Alfredo Hernandez); brother: Ryan and his wife Heather; nieces: Kailey, Amelia, Leyla; nephew: Kash; youngest brother Justin; and his beloved prairie dog: Pebbles.

With a heavy heart we leave Carlos in the hands of the Lord, but rest knowing he is at peace and we will one day meet him again. His smile we will hold dear forever and his loving heart will greatly be missed.
