Carol A. Lukas, 77, of Venice, died unexpectly June 9, 2011.
Carol was born September 15, 1933 in Manhattan, New York to Anthony and Emily Kopachevsky. During her high school days she was a member of the majorette squad at Andrew Jackson High School in Cambria Heights, NY. She later attended and graduated Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School of New York. She was employed by Universal Atlas Cement Company of New York City. She was married to the late Cass F. Lukas since 1962. Cass and Carol moved their family from New York to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1967. After the children "left the nest", Cass and Carol moved to Venice, Florida to be closer to her mother. Once in Venice, Carol worked at the Venice Gondolier for a period of time. She also volunteered as an usher at local events.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Christine E. Hopkins and her husband, Robert H. Hopkins, Jr. of Mooresville, NC and Karen A Lewis of Mascotte, FL ; son, Walter S. Lukas of Venice , FL; cousin, Donald F. Wivchar and his wife Janis E. Wivchar of Highlands Ranch, CO; sister-in-law, Marie Hogan of Warminster, PA; nephew, Michael Griffin and his wife Nancy Griffin of South Hampton, PA.
