Carol Lorraine Egger (Keller) died peacefully on June 3, 2017 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 80.
Carol is survived by her husband Jerry, with whom she was married for 60 years. Along with her daughter, Debbi Mostul and husband Terry, daughter Cindy Smith and her husband David, son David Egger and his wife Vicki, and daughter Kristi Fazio and her husband David, all from Portland, Oregon. Sister, Evelyn Brose from Edgewood, Washington as well as 13 grandchildren and 3 great grand children. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Martha Keller and granddaughter Stephanie Smith.
Carol was born on October 17th 1936 in Portland, Oregon to Carl and Martha Keller. She graduated from Scappoose High School in 1954. She married Jerry, her childhood family friend July 20, 1956.
After high school, she began working for Armour Meat Company using a comptometer. Once she married, she joined her husband on his family farm in Portland, Oregon, which eventually moved to Sauvie Island. Over the next seven years, they welcomed four children, and set about teaching them how to work on the farm.
Carol's children remember her as a hard working, caring, loving, and committed mother who encouraged them to put their faith in God.
Carol was accomplished as a bookkeeper, which she managed for the family farm, all by hand. She loved any time when the whole family was together, laughing and enjoying each other's company. She loved keeping up with all of the grandchildren and their busy lives. She was a dedicated and active member of Portland First Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed volunteering as a greeter and working with the infants in the nursery.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Portland First Church of the Nazarene. 6100 SW Raab Rd, Portland, Oregon 97221 with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carol's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Portland First Church of the Nazarene Kid's Ministry. The family would like to thank all hospital staff at Good Samaritan Hospital for their care and dedication to her care.
