She was outgoing with everyone she met and treasured the privilege of being able to help others. She possessed a number of interests and activities. Sports were always a mainstay in her life, from rooting for the Chicago Cubs to the Kansas Jayhawk basketball program. Her dedication reached the point that when former KU coach Roy Williams left for North Carolina, his name was not be be mentioned. Whenever the World Series or NCAA Tournaments came around, she was the ringleader for establishing the pools and bracket play. She also attended all the softball and basketball games of her granddaughters. Her leisure time was filled with crocheting, making cup holders, afghans, coasters and of course, hundreds of Christmas stockings. Her greatest love and enthusiasm in life was for her family and Carolyn will be lovingly remembered for her quick smile and sincerity towards everyone she met.
