Catherine "Kate" Monilaws, 81 of Absaraka, ND, died Friday, September 25, 2015 at the hospital in Lisbon, ND.

Catherine "Kate" Monilaws was born November 25, 1933, in Buffalo, ND, the daughter of John and Lottie (Delameter) Pavlik. She grew up in Buffalo and graduated from Buffalo High School. Following high school, Kate attended and graduated from St. John's School of Nursing. As a Registered Nurse, she worked at St. John's Hospital until her marriage to Robert Monilaws. They made their home on the family farm near Absaraka where they raised their family. Kate later was employed by Hospice of the Red River Valley until her retirement.

Kate was a member of the Absaraka/Casselton United Methodist Church and was instrumental in starting the Sunday school program. She was active as a leader of the Empire 4-H Club and the Absaraka Homemakers Club.

Preceding her in death: husband Bob; parents; brothers: John & Frank Pavlik; sister: Mary Jane Grieve.

She is survived by her children, Lynn (Mike) Masso, Stacy, Minn., Tom (Patty), Absaraka, Melanie (Steven) Dorow, North Platte, NE, Steve (Ruth), Absaraka, John (Stacy), Valley City, N.D., and Ray (Sarah) Baker, Minot, N.D.; grandchildren, Ashley (Tony) Leseman, Meghan (Josh) Kolkind, Brandi Masso, Matt Peterson, Megan Peterson, Whitney (Jason Dettler) Monilaws, Mariah (Adam) Edland, Natalie Monilaws, , Simona & Kelly Hecker, Paul Decker, Michael & Steven Baker; great-grandchildren: Clara, Annie, Ayda, McKenna, Mattea, Eli, Ashton, Hudson, Colton; a sister: Peggy Heimbigner of Spokane, WA and many nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the RRV.

Visitation: Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 9 to 10 A.M. followed by the funeral at 10 A.M. in the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Casselton.

Burial: Wheatland Cemetery, Wheatland, ND
