Celia Irene Sandoval, 74, of National City, California passed away on December 29, 2017, after a long illness.

Celia was born Celia Irene Perez in 1943 in Mexicali, B.C., Mexico. She attended primary school in Mexicali and Calexico, California, until later making National City, California her home in 1968. She married and had four children to which she dedicated her life to raising.

Celia's love for small children led her to a life of nurturing and caring for families. She had a home day care where she cared for nieces, nephews and neighborhood children. As a certified nanny, she also cared for the children of local celebrities for many years. Celia was most recently employed with the Chula Vista School District as a bus attendant working with children with disabilities. Celia was a long-time member of the Sociedad Mutualista de Chula Vista, where she enjoyed social activities including excursions and cruises. She loved the celebrations and annual parties with her club.

She is survived by her four adult children Rebecca Moreno (Juan), Jose Sandoval, Lorena Mujica (Charlie), Celia A. Sandoval; and nine adored grandchildren Fabian. Nathan and Annaya; Elisa; Cruz, Charlize, Chrisley, and Casiano; and Mikayla. As the eldest of six siblings, she was a nurturer, and was loved and respected by Jorge, Fred, and Daniel Salas; Marisela Crabb, and Eva Salas. Parents Trinidad (1991) and Eva Salas (2008) pre-deceased Celia. She will be missed by her children, grandchildren, and siblings; nieces, nephews, and their families; a generation of cousins in Fresno, Mexicali and Tijuana; and many life-long friends.

Services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at Eastlake Church, 2355 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista, California 91914. Inurnment at 1:30 p.m., Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, California 91902.
