Charlene Llopis Cuiellette-Pleas, affectionately known as "Charlie". A resident of Lafayette, LA and a native of New Orleans, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014. She leaves behind her pride and joy of her life, her only child, Robert Cuiellette Llopis, daughter in law Wendy and two beautiful grandchildren, Angelica and Gian Carlos of Lafyette, LA ; sisters, Bellanita L. Davillier (Cyril Jr.), Alva L. Terrell (Joe) of Baton Rouge, LA; two godchildren, Cybil D. Barbanes of Coarl Springs, FL, Ronald S. Haley, Jr., Esq of Baton Rouge, LA; niece, Fannie Terrell; nephews, Cyril, III and Chris Davillier, Sr., Clinton Lewis, Jr. and Ryan Jude Haley.

She was predeceased in death by her parents, Alvin and Vera Llopis, sister, Velama Ll.opis Lewis, maternal and paternal grandparents and her godmother, Teenie Llopis Doubard.

Charlene was educated at St. Mary's Academy and graduated from Joseph S. Clark High School, received her Bachelors of Arts in Education from Southern University, graduating Mag Num Cum Lud, received her Masters in Education from Xavier University and attended University of New Orleans in pursuit of her PhD. "Charlie was a life long educator, and an advid believier in education. She was a Reading Specialist and an Adminstrator of Title 1 for Orleans Parish Public Schools. If education was her life then her loves were her family, friends and animals. She was known as "Nanny" to all of her nieces and nephews and "Ita" to her only grandchildren. To everyone else, she was , "Charlie". A loving mother and devoted wife, she grew up in Pontchartrain Park where she met and married her high school boyfriend, the late Robert L. Cuiellette, with only one child to their union after their divorce, she remarried Michael A. Pleas, whom she remained married to until her death.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 24, 2014, at Center of Jesus The Lord, 1236 N. Rampart St. New Orleans, LA at 9:00AM followed by a Catholic Mass at 11:00AM. Interment , St. Louis No3. Condolences may be expressed at www.schoencanalstreet.com
