Charles "Chuck" Graves, age 85 of North Richland Hills, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 12, 2017. Upon leaving North Hills Hospital, he was welcomed by Universal Health Resources, a hospice facility.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Shannon Funeral Chapel (6001 Rufe Snow Dr., Ft. Worth). Military graveside honors will follow at 1 p.m. at the DFW National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas).

Chuck Graves was born March 21, 1931, in Wichita Falls, TX; he was the son of Charles and Connie Graves. He attended Fort Worth schools until age 15 when he enlisted with the United States Marine Corps and served for 21 years. Chuck was a WWII veteran, served in the conflict in China, Korean War, and participated in three tours to Vietnam. He retired from the Marine Corps as a master sergeant in 1968 and served aboard the USS Hornet for the 1969 recovery mission of Apollo 12. After retirement, Chuck worked for Radio Engineering Military Products in Montreal, Canada. As a field service manager, he traveled various parts of the world in support of electronics and employees. Chuck worked for the City of Fort Worth in the IT Department in charge of radio communications from
October 19, 1981, to March 31, 1998.

Chuck married Donna Wilson on December 6, 1992, in North Richland Hills. Survivors include his wife, Donna; his children: Stephen Graves, Connie Peña, Eric Wilson, John Wilson, Mary Lee, Jack Butler, and Craig Smith; one nephew, Curtis Haley and one niece, Jill Levy. Grandchildren include Blake, Meredith, Paige, Jared, Luke, Caleb, Diego, and Addison. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Connie Graves, and one sister, Frances Haley.

The family would like to express their appreciation to North Hills Hospital as well as Universal Hospice. A special thanks is extended to Tony, Maria, Jamie, Jo, Carolin, Gloria, Raquel, Sharon, Patricia, Gerlinda, Linetta, Michelle, Angel, and Chaplain Annette for their competent and compassionate care.
