Charles C. Christman 67, of Trumbauersville, (affectionately known as Charlie or Chuck) passed away in his sleep on Friday, December 29th at the Grapevine Medical Lodge, Grapevine, TX. Born February 17th, 1950, in Reading PA., to the late Monroe P. and Betty G. (Hollenbach) Christman. He graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1968. Charlie enlisted in the U.S. Army that following August. After three years and a tour in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged. After Nam, he used the GI bill to earn his CDL license as a long-haul trucker and fell in love with the road until he retired at 61. Charlie worked for Lentz, Jevic, New Century, and was an owner-operator under Panther II trucking, driving with his brother Monroe. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, golfing, bowling, seafood, fried chicken, watching movies, staying at his cabin in Wellsboro and driving down to Texas multiple times a year to visit his granddaughter. He was always helping family where he could and provided great advice to his siblings, son and daughter-in-law. He will be missed greatly by all that have known him. Survivors: He is survived by his son, Travis Christman his wife Jinny Christman; and the light of his life, granddaughter Kira Christman of Texas. He is also survived by his brother Monroe Christman and sister, Blanch Reed (Christman), her husband Robert, their child and his former wife Diane Christman. He is predeceased by his brother Terry Christman and sister Charlotte A. Seiders. Services: A Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday February 3rd, 3 PM at Zion Spies Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 Spies Church Rd, Reading, PA 19606, with a reception to follow of Charlie's favorite foods and drinks. Family and friends are welcomed.
