Charles Kenneth Lindsey, 83, of Decatur, passed away on November 28, 2017. He was born in the Enon community of Lawrence County to parents, Herman Lindsey and Mattie Owens Lindsey. Kenneth was a graduate of Speake High School. He later enlisted into the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. After leaving the service, he was self-employed for over 50 years with cattle, land development, auto auction, auto sales, and drag racing. He was a longtime member of Masonic Lodge #542. Kenneth lived life to the fullest and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mattie Lindsey, brothers, Dale and Don Lindsey.
He is survived by his loving wife; Hazel Puckett Harton Lindsey, son; James Howard Harton; daughter, Jennifer Harton Woods(Darren); grandchildren, James-Kenneth Harton(Deborah),Joseph Harton, Lindsey Woods(Jo), and Krystle Woods Robinson(Clay), great-grandchildren, James Elijah Harton, Chelsey and Briley Woods, Maxwell, Greyson, and Kallen Robinson; a niece and several nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017, at Roselawn Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. His funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Bro. Donnie McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
