Charles Butler

Services to celebrate the life of Charles Butler, 81, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Drewery officiating. Burial will follow in Overton Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home.

Charles died on July 27, 2017 at Mississippi Care Center. He was born in Alcorn County on December 4, 1935 to the late Arlis and Virginia Mullins Butler. He graduated from Farmington High School. He was a member of Strickland Baptist Church and was retired from City of Corinth as a police officer. He loved to sing gospel, country and playing his guitar. He also enjoyed watching westerns and wrestling.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Bobby Butler and grandsons, Jacob Wooley and Greg Derryberry.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Joan Hudson Butler; sons, Ricky Butler (Tammy) and Charles Butler, Jr. (Patsy) daughters, Deborah Wallin (Rick), Linda Frazier (Danny), Tina Sharp (Royce), Becky Obed (Craig), Tammy Snow, and Dawn Nash (Ron), brother, Wade Butler (Diane); sisters, Brenda Palmer (Robert), Frances Thurby and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
