Charles W. "Bo" Young, Jr., 53, of Norwich, passed away on January 29, 2017. Beloved son of Charlie W. Young and Geneva (Anderson) Young of Windsor, Bo was born in Hartford on June 16, 1963 and spent his early childhood living in Avon and Simsbury. He graduated from Simsbury High School and later received his technical degree in the culinary arts from A.I. Prince Technical School in Hartford. Bo's creativity with recipes and his confidence and charm afforded him great success in the culinary arts program. His fellow students eagerly followed Bo's advice and awaited his next innovation. Bo fostered tremendous enthusiasm for whatever vocation he was actively pursuing, whether it was pest extermination, food service, or product development. His outgoing, fun, and energetic personality always helped him in goal achievement and personal fulfillment. Bo was presently working for Boar's Head Brand in the development department. Bo was full of life and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and bird watching. His greatest achievement was becoming a father to his three children, Brandon, Justin, and Mali. He met his former wife and best friend of over 20 years, Kathy Young, and their two families seamlessly merged into one. Bo became a "Dad" to Kathy's young children, Nicole and Shawn, and loved both as his own. He was a great Dad, actively involved in his children's lives and always encouraging of them to be themselves, live life to the fullest, and pursue genuine happiness. Becoming a Grandpa was a major highlight in Bo's life and at the time of his passing he was anticipating the arrival of his newest granddaughter. Bo was chatty to a fault and couldn't keep a secret if you paid him. He looked forward to socializing with others at weddings, parties, school events, and even at work. Bo's smile and laugh not to forget his incredible sense of style will be missed by all who knew him. Although Bo is gone from our sight, he remains in our hearts. He is forever cherished by his parents, Charlie and Geneva Young; his children, Charles Brandon Young, Justin Allen Young, Somaliah Wallace, and their mother Lorraine Wallace as well as Nicole Alberti and Shawn Pistritto, and their mother Kathy Young; a brother, Jeffrey Alan Young and his wife JoLyn; two sisters, Janice Michele Young-Astwood and her husband Peter and Sharon Reese and her husband Leon; nine grandchildren, Amber, Justin, Jr., Shemiah, Amira, Brandon, Trent, Nolan, Harley, and Syaira. Bo also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Gregory Young. His family will celebrate Bo's life at his homegoing service on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 1 p.m. in The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor, CT 06095. A wake will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to his service at The Lodge. Burial in Riverside Cemetery in Windsor will immediately follow his service.
