Charles Ray Walker, 69 years old, a longtime resident of Pasadena, Texas, passed away Tuesday November 21, 2017 surrounded by family after a sudden illness.
Born August, 28th, 1948, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Dan and Leota Walker. Charlie grew up in Wichita Falls. After moving with the family to Pasadena, Texas he entered the U.S. Army National Guard. After leaving military service he started a decades long series of entrepreneurial enterprises. Rising as a respected independent businessman in the Houston area.
Charlie was a devoted Son, Brother, husband, father, and friend. Charlie's good humor, and loving presence endeared him with close ties to those who knew him. His greatest joy being time with his grandchildren and great grandson.
Fun loving, with a personality that gathered lifelong friends, Charlie was a lover of music, fast cars, motorcycles, travel, and any place he could gather with Family and Friends. The hill country gatherings with family and friends doing the things he loved, camping and the outdoors, will remain fond memories for those who knew him.
In Charlie's later years, the holidays, especially Christmas, and the gathering of family brought him great happiness. He especially looked forward to his birthday every year and his father's German chocolate cake.
Charlie was profoundly proud of his long time sobriety. He devoted considerable time to the service of others helping them on their path.
Charlie is preceded in death by his mother, Leota Walker. Charlie is survived by his Father, Dan Walker; His Wife, Sharon Walker; His Brother, Danny Walker and Wife Sherry, his Sister, Brenda (Walker) Lewis and Husband, Mike; Children, Colette (Walker) Palmer, Step Children, Annmarie Kubezka and Family, Steve Chandler, Hollis Chandler and Family; Grandchildren, Taylor Palmer, Logan (Palmer) Lichau; Bryce Chandler; and Great-Grandchild Dante Lichau; and Nephews, Jeff Lewis, Bryan Lewis, Chad Walker and Niece, Danielle Walker
