Charlotte Ruth Peters, 87, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on January 15, 2018.
She was born in Dallas, Texas on March 27, 1930 to Theo Gladys Davis and Jesse Monroe Strong. On June 3, 1948 Charlotte married Lowell D. Peters. The couple had three children, Charles, Jeanie, and David.

Charlotte was very involved in her church, Shiloh Terrace Baptist, where she was a charter member. She taught Sunday School and Kindergarten. She was also very involved in missions. She was a dedicated member of the apartment ministry for several years.

Education was extremely important to Charlotte. She had both Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education, and devoted her life to being an educator in the classroom and beyond. Charlotte taught special education at John Quincy Adams Elementary School in Dallas for 26 years and English at Shanxi Educational College in Shanxi, China for 2 years.

In addition to being an educator, Charlotte was a life long learner. She was always curious to know and understand more about the world. This curiosity led her to do extensive traveling after the death of her husband. Charlotte traveled to many destinations including England, Germany, Hawaii, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, the Caribbean Islands, Austria, Israel, and China. During her travels, Charlotte developed a passion for the people and culture of China, where she lived for three years.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband Lowell Peters. She is survived by her son, Charles Peters and wife, Patricia; daughter, Jeanie LupPlace and husband, Larry; son, David Peters and wife, Ruth; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home on Thursday, January 18 from 6-8pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20 at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, Charlotte requested that donations be made to the Houser Mission Fund through Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church (9810 La Prada Dr, Dallas, TX 75228).
