Claire E. Rothus 7/14/21 ~ 6/26/17

She had a big smile and hearty laugh. "Never worry about the present, past or future - life goes on"

Claire was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Lt. Commander USCG and professor at University of Hartford, Victor Francis Rothus. Other departed members in her family; her parents Hector & Imelda Theroux, brothers - Robert, Larry, Guy, Andre, John, Ray and sisters; Rita, Irene and Doris. Her surviving sister, Noella Bergeron, resides in South Hadley, MA.

Claire loved all animals. She looked after our pot belly pig when we worked - Maggie crossed the street over to grandmas every day for lunch and socialization.

Claire enjoyed cooking and was famous for her pecan pie and French meat pie. Claire admired and loved her grandchildren, Justin, Holly and Kathryn. She was proud of all their achievements. And, always excited to see or hear about her great grandchildren, Ella Claire, Everett, Greyson and Isla.

Claire was conservative and conscientious of the environment. She reused plastic and paper. We had a clothes line - she would hang washed plastic bags out to dry. To quote her, "people should not throw so much in the trash".

Claire led a long and healthy life. She will live on forever in the memories and hearts she touched. She is survived by her daughter Carol, son-in-law Rick Anderson, Bristol, RI. She is also survived by many nieces & nephews and sister-in-law's - Lucille, Jan Marie and Judy Theroux.

Services and celebration of her life and Victor's are being held in South Hadley, MA. Updates will be posted.
