Clara D. Cota was born, August 12, 1917 in the small town of Isla de Magdalena, Baja California, Mexico to Ysidoro and Ramona Duarte. She was the first born of ten children.

The Family sailed up the coast in the late 1920's and settled amongst the cities of; Ensenada, Tijuana and San Diego.

Clara loved life the way she loved music, dancing and her family. She married Adam Cota from New Mexico in 1938, had 6 children and made their home in San Ysidro. She loved being a homemaker and is best remembered making tortillas and tamales in her kitchen.

In 1961 the family moved to the El Monte Valley in Lakeside to manage Miller's Dairy. Adam, Clara and Adam Jr. managed the dairy for 25 years. She watched her family grow from children to grandchildren and then great-grandchildren. "Nana" became her favorite name.

In 1992 they moved closer to town where she continued her love of music, crocheting, cooking and gardening. After 65 years of marriage, her husband Adam
passed away in 1993.

Clara passed peacefully on January 14, 2018 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her precious children and grandchildren, into the arms of her Father, God.
She is survived by siblings, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and countless of people that had the pleasure of witnessing that warm smile, heartfelt laugh and kind words.

Clara's 100 years of life encompassed it all! When you were in her presence or crossed her path, more than likely her parting words would be, "Bless You All!".

Daughter, sister, mother, Nana and friend. You will be greatly missed but we know you will continue to be with us each day, as a flower blooms, a piano key strikes or a bird sings.

Thank you for your unconditional love! And to YOU, we say, BLESS YOU!
