Clara C. Schaffer, age 78, of Wakeman, died Sunday evening at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. She was born on August 4, 1933 in Norwalk and has lived in the Collins-Wakeman area for most of her life. She was a 1952 graduate of St. Paul's High School. She retired from Norwalk Furniture and was a member of St. Mary's Church in Wakeman. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
She is survived by her children Richard (Michelle) Schaffer, of Norwalk, Linda (Robert) Kendeigh, of Oberlin, and Theresa (Michael) Tinney, of Wakeman, sisters, Margaret Nickoli and Mary Fannin, both of Norwalk, and Dorothea Atkinson, of FL, ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ambrose Schaffer Sr., her parents Benjamin and Antoinette (Wilhelm) Camp Sr., a son Ambrose Schaffer Jr., two sisters Theresa Skinner and Elizabeth "Betty" Schaffer and a brother Benjamin Camp Jr.
Friends may call on Tuesday March 13 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. A Scripture Service will be held at 8:00 pm.
On Wednesday March 14, there will be a Prayer Service at the funeral home at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Main Street in Wakeman. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park near Huron.
