Claude Spicer
1941 - 2020

Gaffney, SC – Claude Julius Spicer, 79, passed away on September 11th at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born in Gaston County on August 12, 1941 to the late Willie and Lois Carson Spicer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Rose Bolding Spicer; his son, Rodney Dale Spicer; brothers, Buford Lee Spicer and Lawrence Carl Spicer.

Claude was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed fishing and loved watching animal programs and police shows on television. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his sons, Bryan Spicer (Tracy) and Clint Spicer (Ginger); grandchildren, Victoria James, Nathan Spicer, Courtney Spicer, Dallis Spicer, Bryanna Horne and Bethany Spicer; 7 great grandchildren; and sister, Beulah Mae Edwards (Maurice).

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home, Gastonia. with A Celebration of Life service on Wednesday, September 16th at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain with Military Honors.
