Clifford "Tip" Vining, 86, Durbin, ND died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Essentia Health, Fargo.

Clifford R. Vining was born Aug. 3, 1929 in Fargo, ND to Lenley and Marian (O Bleness) Vining of Chaffee, ND. After graduating from Chaffee High School and attending Concordia College, he followed his brothers into the Air Force where he was a mechanic. He married Darleen Schimming on June 21, 1957 the day after the infamous Fargo tornado. After living a short time in California, they moved back to ND to farm. Their involvement with Goshen Moravian Church permitted them to participate in mission activities in Honduras, Antiqua, Jamaica, Labrador, Alaska and Indiana. Clifford was also involved in the Leonard (ND) Lions Club and served as District 5NE Peace Poster Chairman.

He is survived by his wife, Darleen; two sons, Kevin (Janine) Vining of Bismarck, ND and Roel (Barbara) Vining of Windsor, CO; and granddaughters, Deanna and Michaela Vining. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William and John.

Visitation: Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, Casselton, ND.

Funeral: Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Goshen Moravian Church, rural Durbin with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Goshen Moravian Cemetery.
