Clyde Richard Lloyd, 82 years old, of Statesville passed away on November 11, 2017. Clyde was born on July 15, 1935 in Iredell Co. to the late Grover Harrison Lloyd and Lou Ellen Sparks Lloyd. Clyde proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict before starting a career in law enforcement. Mr. Lloyd started in law enforcement with the City of Statesville. He made his way through the ranks, retiring as Captain after 29 years of service. After serving the Statesville Police Dept., Clyde served two terms as the Sheriff of Iredell County before retiring.

Mr. Lloyd was predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Peggy Houpe Lloyd in 2006 and was also predeceased by 5 brothers. He is survived by his sons, Tony Lloyd of Statesville and Philip Lloyd and his wife Julie of Statesville; his daughters, Lisa Estrada and her husband Christopher of Statesville, Debbie Estrada of Statesville, Cindy Shoaf and her husband John of Statesville and Wanda Krumroy of Statesville; his sisters, Shirley Loundsbury and her husband Bob of Virginia and Joyce Holland and her husband Wayne of Statesville; 19 grandchildren, Meagan, Trevor, Matt, Nick, Colby, Landon, Josh, Jacque, Jessica, Dylan, Jeremy, Delanna, Aaron, Hannah, Jamie, Lindsey, John Ross, Cody and Steven and 4 great grandchildren, Emily, Brody, Bentley and Kinsley.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home, 705 Davie Ave., Statesville. A funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday 12pm in the Westmoreland Chapel at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens, Statesville.
