Connie (Quatrone) Luggiero, a longtime Lodi resident, died peacefully in her sleep at a nursing home in Alexandria, Va. Mrs. Luggiero was born in Lodi and raised in Garfield. She attended Garfield High School.

During World War II, she worked at the Wrights Aeronautical Company's Woodridge facility, which employed at its peak over 27,000 people and functioned 24 hours a day in what could best be described as a mini city. On the property was a hospital, a day care center, as well as police and fire units. While employed at Wrights, she met Staff Sergeant Anthony Luggiero - recently home from the European theatre of the war - who became the love of her life. They married in 1946 and lived together in Lodi for 70 years, before moving to Alexandria in 2016.

Friends and families regarded Mrs. Luggiero as a master cook of Italian food and other delicacies, and an expert dressmaker. She was an avid New York Giants fan.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Anthony of Alexandria; two sons, Gary (Carla) of Alexandria, and Anthony (Teresa) of Sebastapol, Calif.; a grandson, Christopher of New York City; and brothers Philip Quatrone and Anthony Quatrone, both of Lodi. She is predeceased by brother James Quatrone and sister Josephine Rulli.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
