Constance C. Raptis was born on October 3, 1926 in Vallejo, California, to Theodora and Thomas Chanley, and passed away on January 9, 2018. She moved to Greece as a young child, and in 1946 returned to the United States and settled in Dallas, Texas. On September 26, 1954, she married Demetrios Raptis, her loving husband of 63 years. She was a life-long member of The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and Philoptochos.
Constance had a passion for helping others and will always be remembered for her generosity, kindness, her love of musical theater, and the happiness she brought to everyone around her. She faced the end of a lengthy illness with the same strength, faith and uncomplaining calm with which she had marked all the ups and downs of a full life.
She is survived by her husband Demetrios Raptis, sons Perry Raptis and Chris Raptis, and her grandchildren Stephanie and Sarah. She is also survived by her sister Maria Frangou of Dallas, and loving nieces and nephews.
Trisagion prayer service will be held on Monday, January 15th at 7:00 p.m., and funeral service on Tuesday, January 16th at 10:00 a.m. at The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 13555 Hillcrest Rd., Dallas, Texas.
Special thanks to Dr. Micah Burch and Dr. Jennifer Wilkerson and the physicians and nurses at Baylor University Medical Center and Medical City Las Colinas for their exceptional and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or the Texas Oncology Foundation.
