Port Charlotte - Constance Scalia, 85, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Lakewood, NJ, passed away at Fawcett Medical Center, Port Charlotte, FL. She was born September 7, 1932, in Lakewood, NJ, to Frank and Jean Vasapoli. Connie was an alumni of Lakewood High School, class of 1950. After high school and during summers, she attended Eastern School of Physicians Aides graduating as a Medical Assistant. After achieving that, she attended college for a dietician license and worked at Beth Israel Hospital for a short time before her marriage. She was in who's who of American Women, worked 20 + years in automotive as a business manager. Connie retired in 2000 and moved to Florida. After Hurricane Charlie destroyed her home, she moved to Palm Springs, CA in 2005 where her daughter and son in law had a winter home. She volunteered for 7 years at the Tennis Garden in Indian Wells. She moved back to Florida in 2012. She was a member of the Sons of Italy, Port Charlotte Lodge 2507; Women of the Moose, Port Charlotte Chapter 1613 and the Elks, Punta Gorda Lodge #2606.

Connie is survived by her daughter Jeanne Jannicelli, son in law Alex Jannicelli, son Joseph Scalia, daughter in law Jane Scalia, five grandchildren Alex, Michael, Vincent Amy and Joseph, nieces, nephews and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Monday December 4, 2017, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday December 5, 2017 at 12 pm at Saint Mary of the Lake RC Church, 43 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, NJ, 08701, with interment to follow at Saint Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ
