Obituary for Mrs. Consuelo Benito Lee

May 6, 1933 - June 23, 2020
Austin, Texas | Age 87

Consuelo Benito Lee, age 87, went to be with our Lord on June 23, 2020 in Austin, TX. Consuelo was born on May 6, 1933 in Ortigosa de Pestaño, a province of Segovia, Spain to Venancio Benito Yangüas and Benita Muñoz Pedrazuela.

In 1958, at a beautiful chapel in Madrid, Spain, she married the love of her life, Albert, then relocated to San Antonio, TX. She had an incredible bond with her husband, they were inseparable. She was a proud wife, mother, and grandmother. Consuelo was a devoted homemaker for many years, she adored her children and grandchildren and cherished every moment of family time. Her joy of sewing led her to a career at the neighborhood fabric store, Cloth World where she made many friends and shared her love of dressmaking.

She took pride in serving her faith as a church greeter. She loved welcoming her fellow parishioners at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church to Saturday Mass. Consuelo was a very proud Spaniard and would make sure she shared that with her friends. She dearly missed her home country and family in Spain. Consuelo's unselfish ways always put others needs ahead of her own.

She was preceded in death by Venancio Benito Yangüas (father); Benita Muñoz Pedrazuela (mother); Venancio Benito Yangüas (brother); Angela Benito Yangüas (sister); Teofila Benito Yangüas (sister); Milagros Benito Yangüas (sister); and Matilde Benito Yangüas (sister).

Consuelo is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Albert Lee; Albert Lee, Jr. (son); Carl and Kathleen Lee (son and daughter-in-law); Richard Lee (son); and Brenda and Keith Feldman (daughter and son-in-law). Consuelo has 5 grandchildren (Bridget, Megan, Jackie, Grant, and Andrew).

The Lee Family is eternally grateful for the loving care Consuelo received from the Gracy Woods II staff and the New Century Hospice Care Team in Austin, TX.
