Craig O. Rex, Harrod, 84, died on May 27, 2017, at VanCrest of Ada, Ohio.

Craig was born Aug. 4, 1932, in Lima, Ohio, to Dick Owen and Margaret Elizabeth (Johnston) Rex who preceded him in death. On Aug. 19, 1951, he married Janice Mae Burden who died Jan. 7, 1981. Craig married Norma LaRue Preston on March 21, 1982, and she survives.

Craig was a lifelong resident and farmer of Auglaize Township, Allen County. He served in the U.S. Army, I Corps, Korea, 1952-1954. He was a truck driver with a career spanning 32 years including driving for Ken Burden, ScotLad, and Roundys. He was a member of Auglaize Bible Church.

Craig is survived by his loving wife, Norma, and eight children: Michael (Julie) Rex, Sandra (Jim) Corbet, Sharon (Rex) Cole, Susan (Mark) Underwood, all of Harrod; Shelly (Pete) Ehora, Lima; Sheryl (Mark) Stumbaugh, Harrod; Bill (Barb) Preston, Alger; and Cathy (John) Petersen, Ada. He is loved by 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Craig is also survived by his brother, Norman (Kay) Rex; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Hall and Donna Burden; and brothers–in-law, Gene (Connie) Burden and Butch (Linda) LaRue. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Rusty Girdler.

Memorial contributions may be made to Auglaize Bible Church.

Services will be at Auglaize Bible Church, Harrod, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, with Pastor Ben Buzhardt officiating. Burial will be in Auglaize Cemetery, Harrod. Friends may call at Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
