Crisostomo M. Tan, entered Heaven's gate on Thursday, November 9, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Inocencio Tan, Valentina Moncera, wife of 52 years, Filipinas Tan and is survived by his sister, Roevelinda Vasquez, children, sons and daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was born in Sara-et, Himamaylan, Philippines on January 27, 1930. In his early years, Mr. Tan helped manage his family's fishing and transportation businesses. He met his wife, Filipinas Jolavar at a hospital in Bacolod City. They got married in 1959.
He migrated to the United States in 1982 and resided in Houston, Texas. Mr. Tan worked for an Exxon gas station and retired after 10 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed taking long drives around Texas and neighboring states with his family. He and his wife loved spending time with their three grandchildren, Chelsea, Chris and Andrea. Hermann Park and the Houston Zoo were their favorite places to go.
His involvement with the West Visayan Circle of Houston gave him the opportunity to serve the Filipino community in Houston, and participate in fund raising activities to provide academic excellence awards to deserving students.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on December 2, 2017, 10AM, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek located at 15015 Southwest FWY, Sugar Land, TX 77478.
