Curtis A. Gamble, 73, of Hartford, beloved husband of 50 years to Janie (Harrell) Gamble passed away Friday May 12, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital Hartford. Born in Ellaville GA he was the son of the late Shedrick and Maurine (Smith) Gamble and has lived in Hartford for most of his life. He attended local schools and was a Hartford High School graduate Class of 1952. He attended Morris College for a short time, continuing his education at the University of Hartford graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Class of 1973. Curtis was Vice-President and General Manager of the former Park Plumbing Supply Co. in Hartford retiring after 35 years of dedicated service. He received an Honorable discharge with the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict, a member of Tuscan Lodge #17 F&A.M. P.H.A. Hartford, a member of the Hartford Jazz Society serving as past President in the early 70’s, and was an avid basketball and football player in his earlier years through high school and college. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed. Besides his wife, he leaves his son, Curtis A. Gamble Jr. and his wife Trudy of Bloomfield; two daughters, Diane King and her husband Mark of Bloomfield, and Denise Sims and her husband Anthony of Hamden; a sister, Merilyn Graves of Bloomfield; four grandchildren, Vance and Camille Gamble, and Perry and Brandon Sims; two brothers-in-law, George and Aaron Harrell both of Gary IN; and a host of other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held Wednesday May 17 at 11:00 am at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home 807 Bloomfield Ave. Windsor. Burial will be private. His family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to the Hartford Central English Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses 580 Tower Ave. Bloomfield CT. 06002.
