Dakota Hawthorne Falls, 19, beloved son of Jeff and Terri Falls of Stuarts Draft passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was born July 6, 1996 in Waynesboro.

Dakota was a member of Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, Waynesboro. He was a 2014 graduate of Stuarts Draft High School. Having a love for fire and rescue, he was a volunteer firefighter for both Preston L. Yancey Fire Department- Station II and Wilson Volunteer Fire Company. In pursuing his passion for wanting to save people, he had currently been studying to be an EMT. He deeply enjoyed hanging out with friends and fishing.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Donald Falls; aunt, Gail Benson; and uncle, Gene Lipes.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, Gabriel Falls; sister, Ashley Driver and husband, Josh and their children, Kaylee and Mason Driver; paternal grandmother, Eleanor Falls; maternal grandparents, Robert and Marie Martin and Marvin and Wanda Lipes; uncles, Tedford Falls and Fred Lipes; aunts, Donna Kohler, Linda Hinerman and Debra Williams; a number of cousins; as well as Doug and Brenda Brydge who he adored and considered his second parents.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, 2959 Hermitage Road, Waynesboro with Pastor Jeff Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Kenton Brydge (Wilson), Darren Hemp (Station II), Ronnie Funkhouser (Station II), Aaron Fletcher (Station II), Rob Misker (Station II) and Jason Bower (Station II).

Honorary pallbearer will be TJ Richardson (Wilson).

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the church.
