Dr. Daniel C. Keesee, M.D. Family doctor for over 30 years, passed away peacefully at Silverado Care in Kingwood, TX on Monday, May 15, 2017. He was 86.

Daniel was born on April 13, 1931 in Newark, NJ. He attended State Teacher's College, then enlisted in the Army in 1952 during the Korean War. He proudly served his country in the 9th Infantry Division, earning 2 bronze service stars. After returning from Korea, he attended the Newark College of Engineering, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He went on to obtain his Master's degree from the University of Tennessee. After a period of soul searching, he decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a doctor, and received a scholarship to the University of Louisville Medical School.
After graduating medical school and completing his internship, Daniel returned to NJ, pursuing a career in medical engineering at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, and later at the Research Institute in Tarrytown, NY. In 1968, he moved to Florham Park, NJ where he had a private practice for over 20 years and was a physician at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, serving as Clinical Chief of Family Practice from 1972 to 1989. He then moved to Conroe, Texas where he served as Director of the Family Practice residency program. He fell in love with the people and climate of Texas where he stayed for the next 18 years.

"Dr. Dan" had a wide variety of interests, including playing the violin and drums, Amateur Radio, electronics of all kinds, computers, softball, karate, flying, and more. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Keesee, of Florham Park, NJ.
