Daniel E Rhoads, age 32, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 6:45 AM losing his battle with cancer surrounded by family. He was born on May 4, 1985 in Kearns, UT to Karen Edwards and Ed Rhoads. Daniel had a son Karsin, born February 8, 2013 he then married Jennifer on July 30, 2016 and took on the role as step-father to Jennifer's three other children Elizabeth, Taylor and Dylon.
Daniel was an avid Disc golfer playing in as many tournaments as he could. You could often see him playing on the weekends or on Tuesday night doubles. He was also a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys making sure he hardly missed any games and had several jerseys that he would wear on game days. Camping and fishing were also a huge part of Daniel's life, as he loved the outdoors.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Jennifer Rhoads, son, Karsin Rhoads, Step-children, Elizabeth Hurst, Taylor Erickson and Dylon Davis, parents, Karen Edwards, Ed Rhoads (Tina Barker), Step-father, Bob Edwards, Brother, Dustin Rhoads (Hailey Rhoads) and Grandmother, Deanna Steadman. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Darrell Steadman, Jack Rhoads, Minnette Rhoads, Don Edwards, Helen Edwards and his step-mother Carroll Rhoads.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 6, 2018 at Valley View Funeral Home located at 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City, UT. There will be a viewing beginning at 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM, funeral services from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with graveside services following. Special thanks to all of the nurses and staff with First Choice hospice for their hard work in helping take care of Daniel in his last months with us and to Copper Ridge nursing home for making Daniel as comfortable as possible the last days of his life.
